A Hopkinsville man was charged with fleeing from law enforcement during a warrant arrest on Bryan Street Wednesday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say they tried to get out with 36-year-old Lonnie Stuart, and he fled on foot but was located and taken into custody.

Two officers reportedly suffered hand and knee injuries, along with damaging their uniforms, while chasing after him. Stuart had warrants for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, resisting arrest, and third-degree fleeing or evading police.

After the foot pursuit, he was also charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police and two counts of second-degree criminal mischief.
