CCMS Beta Club Collecting Used Shoes on Saturday

If you are prepping for a closet clean-out ahead of the holidays, the Christian County Middle School Beta Club chapter would love to have any extra shoes you plan on throwing out.

The Beta Club is partnering with Microenterprises to collect used pairs of shoes to distribute to other countries, and club advisor Christa Williams says the Beta Club will receive some money in return.

click to download audioWilliams says nearly 50 Beta Club members are taking part in the fund drive, and she hopes they learn the value of helping others through the shoe collection.

click to download audioWilliams says their goal is to collect 2,300 pairs of shoes, with the money raised to go right back into the club to defray expenses and fees.

The Christian County Middle School Beta Club Shoe Drive will be Saturday from Noon until 2 p.m. at the middle school on Glass Avenue.
