Golfers hit the greens at Western Hills Municipal Golf Course this weekend for a special event benefiting the United Way of the Pennyrile. H&R Agri-Power hosted its first-ever charity golf scramble as part of their annual fundraising week.
Sixteen teams braved chilly weather and a few showers Saturday morning for a full 18 holes — all for a good cause.
Zack Kenady, with H&R AgriPower, says the golf scramble was a new addition to the company’s usual fundraising week.
The event featured raffles, prizes, and even a putting contest.
Organizer and participant Nick Rust says the team effort paid off.
For the United Way of the Pennyrile, the funds raised go a long way.
Melanie Noffsinger, Executive Director for the United Way of the Pennyrile says they support 16 nonprofit organizations across Todd, Trigg, and Christian counties, providing everything from youth education to crisis relief.
