Two Atlanta, Georgia, men were charged with taking a man from Clarksville to Hopkinsville against his will and attempting to cash a fraudulent check on Friday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say they were called by Clarksville law enforcement and told of a possible kidnapping with the victim and suspects at McDonald’s on Fort Campbell Boulevard in Hopkinsville.
When police arrived, they reportedly found 66-year-old Michael Broadnax, who told them that he and his nephew, 35-year-old Rodriguez Fillmore, had taken a man voluntarily at Hooters in Clarksville and took him to Hopkinsville.
After speaking with the victim, Police say he stated they told him he was going to cash a check for them, but he told them he didn’t want to go with them to Hopkinsville.
Fillmore was arrested and charged with first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and complicity to second-degree unlawful imprisonment. Broadnax was also arrested and charged with complicity to second-degree unlawful imprisonment and possession of drug paraphernalia.
