Hopkinsville Fire Department, Judge Executive’s Team Among Winners at MAC Chili Cook-Off and Cornbread Challenge

On Saturday, community members gathered at Founder’s Square for the annual MAC Chili Cook-Off & Cornbread Challenge.

The event, hosted by the Christian County Military Affairs Committee in partnership with Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation, drew teams from across the region for a night of food, music, and friendly competition.

The Christian County Judge Executive and Sheriff’s Office team took home the grand prize of $1,000 in the Chili Cook-Off, while Edward Jones earned first place and $400. The Walmart Distribution Center finished second, winning $250, and the Hopkinsville Fire Department claimed third place and $150. The fire department also took home the $100 award for Best Theme.

In the Cornbread Challenge, the Hopkinsville Fire Department earned first place and a $250 prize for their top-ranked recipe. Patriot Chevrolet placed second with their sweet cornbread entry, receiving $150, and the Knights of Columbus secured third place and $100.

Guests enjoyed bottomless chili tastings throughout the evening, with free samples offered to military members and $5 tastings available to civilians. Attendees were also invited to vote for their favorite chili. 

The event was supported by FORTERA Credit Union, Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation, the Christian County Military Affairs Committee, and Visit Hopkinsville, Batter Capital of the World.
