At this time no service will be held, but a Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date for 88 year old Jean Arthur Young of Cadiz Kentucky.
Jean went home to Our Father on October 24, 2025, at 2:02am while residing at the Princeton Rehabilitation and Health Center in Princeton KY. She was the beloved wife of 68 years to Donald Young of Cadiz KY, mother to James Michael Young (deceased) and Julia Ann (Gregory) Brooks of Cadiz KY. Loving grandmother to Krysta (Shane) Knight, Amber Ann Roy, Jessica (Drew) Shelton, and Heather Ballinger. She was blessed with eight great-grandchildren, Kaiden Knight, Lena Knight, Charlotte Knight, Raven Knight, Lucian Roy, Jason Knight, Ryan Wilson, and Luna Shelton. She has one remaining sibling, Robert (RuthAnn) Haverstick of Greensboro GA, a nephew Nathan Haverstick, and a niece Tandi (Chris) Steffens of Festus MO.
Born March 7, 1937, in Festus Missouri to Jessie (Ditch) Haverstick and Arthur Santee. She attended Bismarck School where she met and later married Donald Young. Together they traveled the world and enjoyed the Air Force life living in France, Germany and Belgium along with several areas within the United States. Jean loved to travel and experience life in different countries. She held many jobs during her lifetime such as being a Red Cross Volunteer, school librarian, secretary, real estate agent and a mortgage lender, but her favorite job was being a grandmother and great-grandmother. Jean and Donald were active members of The Order of Eastern Star in both Missouri and Illinois.
Jean was proceeded in death by her son James Young, parents Jessie Haverstick and Arthur Santee, and siblings Margaret (Ronald) Weibking, Martha (Stanley) Beck and Albert “Sonny” Haverstick. She is now peacefully at rest in the arms of those that passed before her.
