Doris Elizabeth Pettus Hobson, 90, of Hopkinsville passed away October 18, 2025 at her home.
Doris was born June 13, 1935 to the late John T. Pettus Sr. and Novella Joiner Pettus. She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late George Hobson in 1956.
She was baptized at the age of 12 under the leadership of the late Rev. Tom Pettus at First Street Missionary Baptist Church. She was a faithful and active member of her church until her health began to decline.
Doris enjoyed spending time with family, telling jokes, cooking, picking greens, making hot water cornbread and feeding people.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Lucille Pettus Mumford, Viella Shipp and Anna Mae Sylve, two brothers, Rev. John T. Pettus Jr. and Fredrick Murphy Sr.
Survivors include her children, Jennifer Hollowell, Clifford Hobson, Gordon Hobson Sr. April Brown, Carl Hobson Sr. and Zachary Mallory, bonus son and daughter, Michael Hollowell and Flora Knight, 20 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be 12 noon, Monday, October 27, 2025 at First Street Missionary Baptist Church, with burial to follow in Cave Spring Cemetery.
Visitation will began at 11am till funeral hour.
