
A Hopkinsville woman was charged with possession of drugs during a traffic stop on Butler Road in Christian County Saturday morning.
Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say they stopped a vehicle for a headlight being out and found the driver, Brandy Adams, to have no insurance and an expired registration.
During the stop, she reportedly gave consent to search the vehicle, and marijuana residue was found in the passenger seat where 19-year-old Whitney Adams was seated. Deputies say that when Adams was asked if she had anything illegal. She stated she had marijuana roaches in her purse.
After a search of her purse, deputies say a small amount of a powder substance believed to be meth was located.
Adams was arrested and charged with possession of meth and marijuana.
