
A traffic stop on North Main Street in Hopkinsville led to drug charges for a Hopkinsville man and woman on Wednesday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say at 5:49 pm, they stopped a vehicle driven by 42-year-old Steven Black for a traffic violation, and during the stop, they consented to a search of their belongings and the vehicle.
Two bags of a white powder substance were reportedly located that tested positive for cocaine. Deputies say a used needle and other drug paraphernalia, along with a child, were also located in the vehicle.
Black and his passenger, 37-year-old Heather Ramsey, were arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine and endangering the welfare of a minor.
Black was also charged with no operator’s license, failure to or improper signal, failure to wear seat belts, no registration receipt, and failure to produce an insurance card.
