Hopkinsville Community College Foundation held its 35th Annual Mike Foster Golf Scramble on Friday, October 3, at the Hopkinsville Golf & Country Club.
The annual event raises funds to support HCC students through textbook scholarships, the Pathfinder Food Pantry, the Goode Emergency Fund, and the Laptop Loaner Program.
The scramble is named in honor of Mike Foster, a long-time supporter of the college and alumnus of HCC’s first graduating class. Foster, who plays each year, co-chaired the 2025 event with HCC Foundation Vice President Angie Gibbs, along with Todd Morris and Greg “Jumbo” Pryor.
For the seventh straight year, the scramble sold out its 30 team slots, with more than 90 sponsors backing the event. According to HCC Foundation Executive Director Rena Young, the scramble is the largest fundraising source for the college’s textbook scholarships. This year, 40 students each received $1,000 in textbook assistance thanks to the effort.
The winning team was Trigg County PVA Lauren Fowler-Joiner, made up of Ryan Joiner, Craig Fowler, Kelley Jordan, and Ryan Williams. They earned first place and $600. Second place and $500 went to Planters Bank, while Golf Cart Doctor placed sixth for $300. The UPS Store Hopkinsville won $100 as the half-field prize.
Individual winners included Rob Yates and Megan Hailey for longest putt, Carter Jane Wilson for ladies’ longest drive, and Mike Hester for men’s longest drive. Prizes included HCC merchandise, Casey Jones gift bags, and Bluetooth speakers.
The Mike Foster Golf Scramble is held annually on the first Friday of October. Next year’s event will take place October 2, 2026.
