A Hopkinsville woman was charged with theft after she allegedly took over $5,000 worth of items from someone on Faulkner Drive in Hopkinsville on Thursday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say 27-year-old Nakayla Turner took items with a total value of $5,700 from someone she was caring for as a CNA.
When officers went to her home to question her about the incident, she reportedly claimed she didn’t, but later admitted to taking the items because she was broke.
After being arrested, Police say she slipped one of the cuffs off her hand. Turner is charged with theft by unlawful taking, second-degree escape, and resisting arrest.
