Thomas Eugene “Gene” Cooke, age 81, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at his home.
He was born on January 14, 1944, in Cerulean, Kentucky.
A graduate of Trigg County High School in 1962, Gene continued his education at Western Kentucky University. He was the co-owner of Chairs by Cooke, a furniture store located in Morganton, North Carolina, for many years.
Gene enjoyed traveling. He also had a deep love for his loyal dog, Teddy, who was his constant companion.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Cameron Cooke, his brother, Wayne Cooke, and his first wife, Mary Rawls Cooke.
Gene is survived by his wife, Joyce Dunning Cooke, of Cadiz and his aunt, Elsie Orten, of Cerulean.
Services will be private.
