Drivers traveling on Interstate 24 near the 62-mile marker in Trigg County should prepare for a new daytime lane restriction starting Monday.
A Kentucky Transportation Cabinet contractor will be on-site to repair steel beams on the KY 124/Cerulean Road overpass, which crosses over the interstate.
The project, which was originally put on hold in late April for additional engineering work, will now restrict eastbound I-24 traffic to one lane. Motorists are advised to be alert for signs and message boards directing them to shift into the open lane as they approach the work zone.
In addition to the interstate lane closure, a temporary traffic signal will be installed on the KY 124/Cerulean Road overpass to manage alternating one-lane traffic.
The repair work is expected to be completed around September 19th, weather permitting.
