An Oak Grove man was charged with fleeing from law enforcement during a traffic stop on Pembroke Oak Grove Road Tuesday morning.
Oak Grove Police say they stopped a vehicle driven by 32-year-old Martin Bendfedt-Lopez for following another vehicle too close and going back and forth across the center line.
During the stop, Police say the odor of alcohol was coming from his vehicle, and two open bottles of alcohol could be seen. Bendfedt-Lopez fled on foot into a wood line while the officer was checking his information before being quickly apprehended.
He was arrested and charged with following another vehicle too closely, no operator’s license, DUI, first-degree fleeing or evading police, reckless driving, and no insurance.
