
Oak Grove announces the retirement of their current police chief, along with announcing the new chief on Tuesday afternoon.
Oak Grove Police say current Police Chief Dennis Cunningham announced his retirement, set for October, along with announcing Major Victor Lynch will be his replacement as chief.
Lynch has over 20 years of service in Oak Grove, nine of which were spent as the assistant chief. Lynch will take over as chief on November 2nd.
Lynch says as police chief, he will be approachable, create more interaction with the community, and with the department.
The announcement of the retirement, along with the new police chief, was made by Oak Grove Mayor Jackie Oliver at a city council meeting on Tuesday night.
