The Hopkinsville Family YMCA will hold its third annual 9/11 Prayer and Community Tribute Workout, honoring the memory of those lost in the terrorist attacks while showing appreciation for local first responders.
Membership Director Norma La Foy says the event is meant to bring people together in remembrance.

Health and Wellness Coordinator Ashleigh Whitecotton said participants will be able to join the firefighters in part of the stair climb.

click to download audioThe morning begins with prayer, the national anthem, and a moment of silence. Participants will then move through the workout stations before finishing by cheering on the firefighters during the stair climb.
click to download audioParticipants do not need to be members of the YMCA and the event welcomes all ages and fitness levels, with certified trainers stationed at each workout area. A track will also be available for those who prefer to walk or run. Children are also encouraged to participate.
The 9/11 Prayer and Community Tribute Workout begins with registration at 7:15 a.m. Saturday. Prayer and the national anthem will follow at 7:45, with the workout starting at 8 a.m. at the Stadium of Champions.
