1st Reading of Hopkinsville Recycling Dissolution Approved

Hopkinsville City Council is urging recycling options be explored before program is phased out. Tuesday night, the first reading of the dissolution of the program was approved, but only after a lengthy discussion. Councilman Clayton Sumner says he thought they were already going to have options.

City Council also approved reallocating over $144,000 in Community Development Block Grant funding from the Hopkinsville Home Improvement Program to the Public Facilities Improvement Program. Funds will be used to repave public parking lots, starting with the Boys and Girls Club. Several council members voted no to this: Jason Bell, Brandi Stallons, and Brittanie Bogard.
