Keith V. Smith, 63, of Hopkinsville, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at his residence.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Dogwood Funerals & Cremations of Hopkinsville is assisting with arrangements.
A native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was born April 27, 1962, the son of the late David Smith and Florence Ella DeShields Smith. Throughout his life, he was a very skilled contractor with experience in home improvement. Coming from a Baptist upbringing, Keith firmly believed in being a loyal friend. For him, loyalty mattered, especially when it came to his favorite football team, the Philadelphia Eagles. In his free time, he enjoyed rhythm and blues music as well as the Isley Brothers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Marvin R. DeShields.
He is survived by his son: Torrell Smith of Georgia; his siblings: Marva (Michael) Taylor of Springfield, Pennsylvania, Yvonne (Sheldon) Smith of Gaston, South Carolina, Karen V. Smith of Pennsylvania, Eric (Juanita) Smith and Lamont (Charlene) Smith of Pennsylvania; his four grandchildren; his special friend, Nancy Young of Columbia, South Carolina; and a host of other relatives and friends.
