Lowell Thomas Hollowell, 70, of Hopkinsville

Lowell Thomas Hollowell, 70, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, was born on May 27, 1955, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, to the late S.R. and Grace Hollowell.

Lowell accepted Christ at an early age and was a proud member of Blooming Grove Baptist Church. His life was marked by deep devotion to his family, a strong spirit, and a generous heart. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, farmer, and outdoorsman who loved the land and found peace in nature. Well respected in his community, Lowell used the gifts and talents God blessed him with to work hard and help countless people, leaving footprints in the lives of many that will last forever.

He peacefully entered eternal rest on August 16, 2025, at Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital West in Nashville, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Linda Ann Jones and Rosemary Hollowell.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved children: Houston Croney of Louisville, Kentucky; David (Keilan) Hollowell of St. Robert, Missouri; Nannie Grace Croney of Louisville, Kentucky; Susie (Christopher) Rowe of Bowling Green, Kentucky; Dianna Croney of Houston, Texas; and Lisa Croney of Hopkinsville, Kentucky. In addition, he was a devoted father figure to Kyria Croney of Houston, Texas, and Michael Croney of Hopkinsville, Kentucky.

His legacy continues through his precious grandchildren: Houston Tyler Groves-Croney (6), River Farmer Rowe (3), Alaina Marie Hollowell (21 months), and Andreas James Lowell Croney (8 months), each of whom brought him great joy.

He is also survived by his siblings: Shirley Pendleton, Brenda Hollowell, S.R. Hollowell, Jr., Jeffery Hollowell, Veneicia Hollowell, Michael Hollowell, and Sandra Hollowell, all of Hopkinsville; Angela Waddy of Villa Ridge, Illinois; Jacqueline Hollowell of Lexington, Kentucky; and Rodney Hollowell of Milliani, Hawaii. He will also be remembered fondly by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Lowell loved them all dearly, his love was strong, consistent, and unwavering, even through life’s toughest times.

When remembering Lowell, one cannot help but also remember his laughter. He had a way of bringing joy and a smile to those around him, leaving behind cherished memories filled with warmth and humor.

Lowell’s life was a testimony of love, resilience, and family devotion. Though his earthly journey has come to a close, his memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
