A Hopkinsville man was charged with wanton endangerment of a police officer after hiding in an attic in an attempt to avoid being arrested Thursday night.
Hopkinsville Police say they went to the Copperfield Avenue address looking for 46-year-old Larry Hutson, who had a warrant for probation violation.
He could reportedly be heard moving around in the attic, and a law enforcement K9 was sent in after several commands for him to exit the attic. Police say they also had to go into the attic to get Hutson, leading to them breaking through the ceiling several times.
Hutson was arrested and charged with resisting arrest, first-degree criminal mischief, and two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer.
