A nighttime lane restriction will be in place this weekend and into next week on Interstate 24 in Lyon County as crews complete the final phase of a micro-paving project.

Weather permitting, lane striping will take place nightly Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., with work continuing into next week.

The work zone extends from the I-24 Cumberland River Bridge at the Livingston-Lyon County line to Exit 45 at KY 293. A reduced speed limit of 55 miles per hour will be in effect, and drivers are urged to watch for signage and arrow-board trucks directing traffic.

Once Lyon County work is complete, crews will shift to I-24 in McCracken County. That section will run from Exit 16 to the Ohio River Bridge, with overnight lane restrictions expected to start as early as Tuesday, August 26.

Meanwhile, micro-paving is also set to begin on Interstate 69, from Exits 1–2 in Fulton County to near Exit 21 in Graves County. Unlike the I-24 work, the I-69 project will be completed during daytime hours, with work expected to start around September 2, weather permitting.

Strawser Construction is the primary contractor for the $9.2 million project, which includes sealing and micro-paving along sections of I-24 and I-69 in McCracken, Lyon, Graves, Hickman, and Fulton counties within KYTC District 1.

The overall project is expected to be finished by September 30.
