With Promotion, Hancock To Help Shepherd CCPS Consolidation

Sandra Hancock has been appointed Academy Coach for the new consolidated Christian County High School.

She currently serves as the district’s Student Transition Coordinator, guiding students toward postsecondary success, and is a member of the Kentucky Dual Credit Advisory Council.

As Academy Coach, Hancock will play a key role in implementing the school’s academy model, which organizes students into small learning communities connected to specific career pathways. She will oversee the implementation, alignment, and continuous improvement of all academies to ensure students receive high-quality, industry-aligned learning experiences.

Her responsibilities include working closely with district leaders, teachers, business and postsecondary partners, and the broader school community to create a student-centered structure that blends career and technical education with academic instruction.

A graduate of Christian County Public Schools, Hancock holds a bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University, two master’s degrees from Murray State University, and an endorsement in Instructional Computer Technology. She began her teaching career in 1997 as a Business Education teacher and has dedicated much of her professional life to Career and Technical Education.

Her experience includes serving as an Information Technology instructor, Student Technology Leadership Program coordinator, dual credit instructor, and College and Career Coach at Hopkinsville High, Christian County High, and Gateway Academy.

Hancock and her husband, Scott, live in Hopkinsville. They are proud CCPS graduates and have a son, Taylor Wade, his wife, and two grandsons.
