Daytime lane restrictions will begin Tuesday, August 19, on the U.S. 68/KY 80 Cumberland River Bridge at Canton in Trigg County.
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet crews will inspect the bridge using an under-bridge inspection vehicle starting at 8 AM daily for about four days. A team of climbers will also conduct a hands-on inspection.
Traffic will be directed into the open lane with signs and message boards. The sidewalk will be closed during the work. Lane restrictions are expected to be lifted by 3 p.m. Friday, August 22, weather permitting.
The Canton Bridge is at U.S. 68-mile point 8.596 and serves as the eastern entrance to Land Between the Lakes. Motorists are urged to use caution around workers and equipment.
