A home and a vehicle on West 1st Street in Hopkinsville were destroyed in a fire Wednesday night.
Hopkinsville Fire Department Spokesman Captain Payton Rogers says they were called for a house fire and found part of the home fully engulfed in flames, along with the front of an SUV.
An adult who was in the home was checked out by Hopkinsville EMS for chest pains, but did not want to go to the hospital.
Rogers says the fire is believed to have started near the carport area of the home, but they are continuing to investigate.
Six people, including children, lived in the home and will be displaced, Rogers says, adding they were told a cat may have been inside the home but has not been located.
The home is located near the intersection of South Jessup Avenue.
