With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Betty Lou Stevenson on Friday, August 8, 2025 at the age of 89. Betty was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt whose warmth, generosity, and selflessness touched the lives of all who knew her. She cherished being a “Nana” to all her grandchildren and great grandchildren, always offering love and kindness.
Betty dedicated her life to her family, always providing a listening ear, and warm embrace. She found joy in spending time with loved ones and expressed her love through her passion for cooking. Her kindness and loving spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met, and she will be deeply missed.
A dedicated worker, Betty served for 41 years with Christian County Public Schools as a cafeteria worker and manager. She always made sure that meals were prepared for students and they were fed daily.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents: James Bennie and Maude Marie Vier Robertson; her brothers: JB Robertson and Thomas Allen Robertson; and her grandson: Dustin Alan Fiorella.
Betty is survived by her husband of 71 years: Willie Stevenson; her children: Carole (Harry) Hudson of Cadiz, KY, Patty (Greg) Fiorella of Hopkinsville, KY and Bobby (Kim) Stevenson of Cadiz, KY; her sisters: Mildred (Freddie) Sowell and Dale Pryor both of Hopkinsville, KY; her sister-in-law: Frances Sears of Cadiz, KY; her grandchildren: Ashley (Jeremy) Gootee, Sheena (JB) Moore, Johnathan (Mehgan) Fiorella, Alex Fiorella, Tyler (Karson) Stevenson, Matt (Alex) Stevenson, Brittany Hudson, and Ryan Hudson; and 14 great grandchildren.
Betty’s love, kindness, and dedication will be forever cherished by her family and friends. She will be remembered as a beacon of love and selflessness that brightened the lives of all she touched.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with her great grandson, Trey Moore, officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
