A traffic stop on North Drive led to drug and theft charges for a Hopkinsville man Tuesday night.

Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say they were called for several items that had been stolen out of a safe, and were possibly taken by 26-year-old Jacob Pruitt.

He was reportedly located driving a vehicle on North Drive and was stopped for a turn signal violation. Deputies say during the stop, a law enforcement K9 alerted to drugs being in the vehicle, and after a search, an unknown drug, suspected marijuana, and some of the stolen items were found.

Pruitt was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking, possession of marijuana, failure to or improper signal, second-degree criminal mischief, and first-degree possession of a controlled substance.
