A Clarksville man was charged with DUI after a wreck on Interstate 24 in Trigg County Saturday morning.
Trigg County Sheriff’s deputies say a car driven by 26-year-old Amari Cross was westbound when it ran off the road, striking the cable barriers, before hitting an embankment.
He reportedly told law enforcement he had been drinking tequila in Nashville, was heading home to Clarksville, and fell asleep and doesn’t remember the drive.
Deputies say inside Cross’s vehicle, a glass smoking pipe and marijuana were found.
Cross was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, DUI, and first-degree criminal mischief.
