A pursuit that started on Jefferson Street in Cadiz led to several charges for a Dawson Springs man Sunday night.
Trigg County Sheriff’s deputies say they attempted to stop a motorcycle driven by 38-year-old Jason Hilt for his license plate not being illuminated, and he fled. The pursuit reportedly came to an end when the motorcycle had mechanical issues and Hilt pulled over on US 68 at Kentucky 139.
Deputies say he had a bag containing a crystal substance that he claimed to be meth, and the plate on the motorcycle had been canceled and taken from a different bike.
Hilt had several warrants, two in Hopkins County, one in Caldwell County, and one in Christian County.
Hilt is charged with possession of meth third offense, first-degree fleeing or evading police, reckless driving, no motorcycle operator’s license, no registration plates, and no insurance.
