Bob Allen of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away on August 3, 2025, at age 91. He was born in West Conshohocken, PA, to Robert Kermit Allen and Anna Hiltebeitel Nester.
Bob’s career within Intelligence spanned over 40 years. He served in the Counterintelligence Corps for 20 years before retiring as a CW3 in 1976. He had multiple assignments to Washington, DC and also served in Korea; Fort Holabird, MD; Fort Gordon, GA; Monterey, CA; Germany, Japan, and Vietnam. Bob attended Gettysburg College, George Washington University, and University of Maryland from which he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree. After retirement from the US Army, Bob worked for 15 more years as a security investigator with the Defense Investigative Service, the security officer of the Naval District of Washington at the Navy Yard, a senior industrial security officer for the Defense Investigative Service, and as the sole industrial security officer at FEMA. For a short period of time, he worked with Boaz Allen Hamilton in the security field.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ann, of KY and two children Barbara (Mark) Calhoun of SC and Robert Allen of KY. He is also survived by grandchildren William Calhoun, Clarice Calhoun, Morgan (Tyler) Perample, and Ryan Allen; sister Barbara Hensley, step-sister Kathy (John) Mullen, two great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Private interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s name to your favorite charity.
