A Dickson, Tennessee, man was charged after fleeing from law enforcement, handcuffed and in his underwear on Jefferson Street in Cadiz, Saturday morning.

Cadiz Police say they were called to help deputies who had 36-year-old Joshua Jordan escape from them, and then ran on foot wearing just underwear while in handcuffs.

Trigg County Sheriff’s deputies say Jordan had been transported to the justice center, where he was causing self-injury by hitting his head against the cage in the cruiser several times. When deputies went to render aid, he reportedly fled when the door was opened.

Jordan was reportedly located by law enforcement on Perry Street, where he stopped and laid down.

Jordan was arrested and charged with disarming a peace officer, third-degree assault of a police officer, alcohol intoxication in a public place, resisting arrest, third-degree criminal trespassing, and first- and second-degree fleeing or evading police.
