Marvin Underwood, age 87, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Trigg County Hospital in Cadiz.
He was born on October 16, 1937, in Madisonville, Kentucky, to the late James Underwood and Lockie Braden Underwood.
A lifelong farmer, Marvin also worked for many years at Averitt Lumber Co. and Kentucky Machine & Engineering.
Marvin enjoyed a simple life, finding joy in the outdoors. He loved spending time on his tractor, tending to his farm, and taking leisurely rides on his 4-wheeler.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Wilda Carr Underwood, on December 23, 2017.
Marvin is survived by his three children, Marvin Brandon Underwood, Shaunee Underwood (Pam), and Bonnie Underwood (Johnny), all of Cadiz; three grandchildren, Dustin Underwood, Bethany Clark (Matt), and Jessica Palmore (Darrell); and four great-grandchildren, Connor McNichols, Jackson Palmore, and Mattie & James Clark.
Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main Street in Cadiz, where the family will receive friends on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 11AM until 1PM, followed by the funeral service at 1PM, with Bro. John Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Fraser-Blackwell Cemetery in Clay, Kentucky.
