Seven Springs Farm recently opened up their very own Floral Academy, featuring a UPick flower farm, silo produce stand, 1812 log cabin, and 1909 one-room school house.
The academy has rows upon rows of fresh flowers, herbs, succulents, and more.
The idea for this academy arose when the land directly in front of Seven Springs’ straw mat operation was offered to the farm by the Trigg County Historical Society. Joe Nichols, owner of the farm, bought the land with the plan to create a storage area. Although, his wife, Ashley, was against the idea. He agreed to keeping the land as-is, but with the criteria that Ashley made a profit with the area.
When they broke ground on the land in April, they had no idea how much work went into the raising of the flower gardens. Ashley said there was a lot of research that went into the creation of the garden.
Now, the silo serves as a produce stand where Ashley can sell a variety of products. The academy hosts UPick flower events, where Ashley teachers customers how to prepare a bouquet, make art out of colorful flowers, and more. Despite the heat, the Academy has had multiple brides come out to choose their wedding bouquets, customers making flower bouquets, and more.
The Seven Springs Floral Academy will be hosting back-to-school mini photography sessions, yoga, and UPick sessions on August 2nd. Yoga will be from 9-10, with the other activities taking place from 10-1.
