Ronnie Ezell, age 75, of Cadiz, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at his home in Cadiz.
He was born on May 17, 1950, in Cadiz, to the late Frank Ezell and Mattie Whitman Ezell.
A dedicated worker, Ronnie devoted over 24 years of his life to Mid South Towing, navigating river boats along the inland waterways.
Outside of his work, Ronnie enjoyed NASCAR racing and loved the thrill of riding his motorcycle during his younger years. He also loved hunting and fishing, spending time with his family in his role as “Pa”, and having a good time with his friends.
In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his wife of more than 50 years, Hazel Holley Ezell; his brothers, Dale Ezell and Billy Ezell; and his sister, Rose Sholar.
He is survived by his children: Steven Ezell (Crystal), James Martin (Angie), Tammy Thomas (Roy Earl), and Keana Hyde (Wayne), all of Cadiz; eight grandchildren: Hunter Ezell (Cheyenne), Colt Ezell, Justin Thomas (Amanda), Matt Thomas (Rachel), Derek Martin (Julie), Kevin Martin (Emily), Keaton Hyde, and Kara Hyde; eight great-grandchildren; his brothers: Glenn “Tub” Ezell (Ann), Jesse Ezell (Vickie), and Freddie Ezell (Mary), all of Cadiz; his sisters: Judy Bryer (Joe) and Sharon Wolfe (Dwight), both of Cadiz; sisters-in-law: Shirley Ezell of Hopkinsville and Mildred Ezell of Cadiz; and brother-in-law, Roger Sholar of Bumpus Mills, TN.
Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main Street in Cadiz, where the family will receive friends from 11 AM until 1 PM, Thursday, July 31, 2025. Graveside service will follow at 2 PM at Briensburg Cemetery, 892 Briensburg Rd in Benton, Kentucky, with Bro. Freddie Ezell officiating.
