Two opportunities to see barrel racing at the Trigg County Recreation Complex are coming in the next few months.
Mikayla Hopson, National Barrel Horse Association Kentucky State Director, spoke to the Cadiz Rotary Club on Tuesday afternoon. Hopson said the first opportunity will be the Back-to-School Barrel Race on Saturday, August 16th.
That event will start at 7:00 PM on August 16th.
Hopson added they will be bringing back a Ham Festival Barrel Race the weekend before the annual Pig Shindig.
The event will also feature various vendors and other events to make it more like a county fair setting.
Events will continue into the day on Sunday, October 5th.
She shared our 22-county region boasts the most youth riders than any other National Barrel Horse Association across the Commonwealth, and that interest in the sport continues to increase.
