Tammy L. Ward Galbreath, age 65, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville.
Born on April 3, 1960, in Camden, New York, she was the daughter of the late John H. Ward and Mary Lucille Finley Ward.
Tammy was a proud graduate of Camden High School and dedicated herself to serving her country in the United States Army and Reserves. She later worked as a cook at Let’s Go Play Academy in Hopkinsville, where she took pride in preparing meals for the children.
In her leisure time, Tammy enjoyed playing video games and collecting vintage dolls. Her two beloved cats, Salem and Sabrina, were constant companions, bringing her comfort and laughter. She most loved spending time with her grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as “Granny Tammy”.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Galbreath, Jr.; her stepson, Eric Jackson; and three brothers, John Ward, Jr., Marvin Ward, and Mike Ward.
Tammy is survived by her children: Carlisa Galbreath, Tammy Davie, and Howard E. Davie, all of Hopkinsville; ten grandchildren: Tanneria Davie, Taniyshia Davie, Rhianna Harrell, Tandre Davie, Rhiniyah Harrell, Nasir Walton, Brooklyn Walton, Taneya Davie, Brae’lynn Walton, and Brielle Walton; a great-grandchild, Micah McKissick; three brothers: Kelly Ward (Louise) of Cocoa Beach, FL, Billy Ward (Darla) of Baldwin, NY, and David Ward (Wendy) of Newport News, VA; and sisters-in-law, Christin Ward of Oneida Lake, NY and Peggy Ward of Newport News, VA.
A graveside memorial service with military honors will be at 2 PM, Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, 5817 Fort Campbell Blvd, Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
