An Oak Grove man was charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place after he reportedly blocked the road on Eddy Street, not allowing law enforcement to pass Saturday morning.

Oak Grove Police say they were driving through the area and noticed several individuals gambling and drinking while sitting in the road.

Everyone reportedly moved except for 41-year-old Ralph Brantley, who, even after being told to move by law enforcement and his friend trying to get him to move, would not.

Police say the odor of alcoholic beverages was coming from his breath, and he had slurred speech.

Brantley was arrested and charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place. While at the jail, police say he was found to have concealed a bag of marijuana.

He was then charged with first-degree promoting contraband, tampering with physical evidence, and possession of marijuana.
