It’s a busy time at the Boys and Girls Club of Hopkinsville as the summer program winds down and some exciting events are on the horizon.
Executive Director Terrence Davis says August 6th will include the club’s Great Futures Luncheon followed by a special ribbon cutting.
The new gym was made possible by a donation from Tommy Wade, who wanted to honor his parents, Tom and Wanda.
For Davis, the connection is also personal.
Davis says Wade’s background made him an ideal partner for the project.
The club has been growing steadily since it began serving kids in 2006.
Right now, about 130 kids attend the summer program each day. And Davis says the goal is always the same.
The community’s support, Davis says, has been essential.

And the community is also invited to the gym dedication later that day.
