The Woodlands Nature Station in Land Between the Lakes will host its 29th annual Hummingbird Festival on Saturday and Sunday, August 2–3, from 10 AM to 4 PM each day.

Nature lovers are invited to witness hundreds of ruby-throated hummingbirds as they stop at native gardens to fuel up for their southbound migration to Central America.

This year’s theme, Avian Art, adds a creative flair to the weekend. Visitors can explore a pollinator-themed art gallery, shop for nature-inspired artwork from local artisans, and enjoy hands-on hummingbird craft activities.

The festival will also include:

  • Live hummingbird banding demonstrations by Southeastern Avian Research

  • Hummingbird and pollinator presentations

  • A native plant sale hosted by Ironweed Nursery

  • Kids’ activities and interactive exhibits

The Woodlands Nature Station is located at 3146 Silver Trail Road, inside Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area, near Cadiz.

Admission for this special event is $9 for adults and teens (ages 16+), $7 for children ages 5–15, and free for kids 4 and under.
