Governor Beshear announced Wednesday that President Donald Trump has approved Public Assistance for more than 60 Kentucky counties affected by two rounds of severe weather this spring — including many in western Kentucky.

The aid covers two major storm events: the April 2 storms, which included flooding, landslides and tornadoes, and the May 16–17 tornado outbreak.

In total, 64 counties were approved for the April disaster and 36 for the May disaster.

Counties in western Kentucky receiving assistance for April storms include:

  • Caldwell

  • Calloway

  • Christian

  • Graves

  • Henderson

  • Hickman

  • Hopkins

  • Lyon

  • McLean

  • Muhlenberg

  • Trigg

  • Union

  • Webster

Counties in western Kentucky receiving assistance for the May tornadoes include:

  • Caldwell

  • Carlisle

  • Christian

  • Crittenden

  • Livingston

  • Logan

  • Lyon

  • Marshall

  • Todd

  • Trigg

  • Union

The President informed the Governor directly by phone, and Beshear applauded FEMA teams for their work in the state.

Residents can also support storm survivors through the Team Kentucky Storm Relief Fund, originally launched following the February storms. The fund helps cover funeral expenses and other critical needs for those affected by these and future disasters.
