Due to strong support Wednesday, Trigg County Athletic Director Doug Gloyd announced the ‘Day of Giving’ campaign has been extended through the weekend.

Gloyd told Your News Edge that numerous people donated online or in person at the Trigg County Co-Curricular building. Donations will continue to be accepted online or by contacting Gloyd at (270) 217-2778 to arrange a pickup through Sunday night.

The first $30,000 donated to this year’s effort will be matched by the Cadiz Rotary Club. Rotarian Cy Dossett issued a challenge to fans of Wildcat athletics, as the Rotary Club match will help support free admission for youth and senior citizens over the age of 65.

The group voted to approve the match in mid-June, with Dossett adding it’s important to expose children to all aspects available during their education journey.

Rotarian Beth Sumner said the Cadiz Rotary Club was glad to provide this match, so more students could experience high school home games.
