Trigg County Public Schools announced Tuesday evening that Michael Stinnett has been named the district’s new Director of Operations — following the oncoming retirement of Matt Ladd.

A 2007 graduate of Murray State University, Stinnett began his career in education that same year with Trigg County Schools, where he taught math and science and coached basketball at Trigg County Middle School — before moving on to serve as assistant principal at Millbrooke Elementary School in 2019.

In this new role, he will oversee district operations, safety and support services.

Superintendent Dr. Rex Booth said Stinnett “embodies the values” they hold as a district, and that he understands the importance of “accountability, communication, and consistent leadership.”

Through a written statement, Stinnett said returning to Trigg County “feels like coming home,” and as this is where his educational journey started, hopefully “it’s where it ends.”

He and his wife, Ashley, live in Trigg County with their children, Hensley and Haddie, who both attend Trigg County Schools.
