A traffic stop on Linton Road in Trigg County led to several charges for a Cadiz man Friday night.

Trigg County Sheriff’s deputies say they stopped a vehicle driven by 30-year-old Bryer Cotton for his license plate not being illuminated and reckless driving. During the stop, the odor of marijuana was reportedly coming from the vehicle.

Deputies say Cotton admitted to having three beers and tossing the cans out of the vehicle, and said he had marijuana in the vehicle. A 17-year-old in the vehicle reportedly handed law enforcement the bag of marijuana.

After a field sobriety test, Cotton was arrested and charged with DUI, possession of marijuana, criminal littering, first-degree wanton endangerment, improperly on left side of road, and rear license plate not illuminated.
