A shoplifting complaint at Walmart on Clinic Drive led to drug charges for a Manhattan, Kansas, man Thursday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say 20-year-old Corey Leavell was taking items from Walmart, and during his arrest, he swallowed a bag of suspected cocaine.

He was reportedly found to have a bag with a crystal substance inside, along with other drug paraphernalia.

Leavell was arrested and charged with tampering with physical evidence, theft by unlawful taking, resisting arrest, and possession of cocaine.
