The process to take down the annual Field of Flags in Cadiz occurred Saturday morning.

The event is hosted each year by the American Legion Post 74. During the brief ceremony, Mike Sandbrink shared that 2025 was the 14th year for the event, hosted near Hancock’s Neighborhood Market.

Sandbrink added that during the effort, you are not just buying a piece of cloth; you are telling the story of those who made sacrifices for our country.

His words were followed by a rifle salute and the playing of “Taps.”

Those on hand to help with the folding of flags included Deputy Jayden Ralston, members of the Boy Scouts Troop 57 and 574, and the American Legion Riders Post 233.

Flags will be delivered to the John L. Street Public Library for those who purchased one to pick up.
