Burgers Raise Scholarship Dollars For Trigg County Cattleman’s Association

Hamburgers at Boyd’s Tavern at the Red Brick Inn July 5th raised more than $2,000 for Trigg County Cattleman’s Association scholarships.

Cattleman’s Association President Griffin Futtrell says they cooked and sold nearly 150 hamburgers Saturday. They raised $1300 through food sales, and had $1073 in donations. The cookout totaled $2373 in funds raised to go toward youth scholarships.

Futtrell says the scholarships go a long way toward helping the youth of Trigg County pursue their career in farming or an agriculture field.

He adds the ground beef used for the fundraiser Saturday came from Futtrell Farms.

Several members of the Trigg County Cattleman’s Association were on hand Saturday to help cook the burgers and talk about their farming operations to those who stopped by for hamburgers. The Cattleman’s Association thanked Boyd’s Tavern for their partnership and continued support. And they offed a bg thanks to members and supporters that pitched in to help, and to all that stopped by to purchase burgers and made donations.
