Names Released In Interstate 169 Crash

A wreck on Interstate 169 in Christian County severely injured a man on July 3rd.

Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say a vehicle was southbound at the 20-mile marker of Interstate 169 when a medical problem caused the driver, 58-year-old Erwin Vaughn of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, to lose control of the vehicle and it to run off the road, hitting a guardrail.

Hopkinsville Fire Department Spokesman Captain Payton Rogers says Erwin Vaughn was severely injured and was taken by ambulance with CPR in progress to Jennie Stuart Health, then flown to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.

63-year-old Terri Vaughn of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and a 4-year-old were also reportedly checked out by Hopkinsville EMS, with Rhye taken to Jennie Stuart Health for treatment.

A northbound vehicle driven by 47-year-old William Ballard of Buffalo, New York, was also damaged due to debris from the original crash.
