Man Charged With Assaulting Police Officer

A Hopkinsville man was charged with assaulting a police officer and spitting on someone on West 1st Street in Hopkinsville Monday night.

Hopkinsville Police say 57-year-old Todd Rudolph was stopped due to following his ex-girlfriend down the street several times and attempting to assault her.

Police say he was reportedly under the influence of alcohol and resisted arrest, kicked an officer twice, and spat on his ex-girlfriend’s friend.

He was arrested and charged with fourth-degree assault, third-degree assault of a police officer, resisting arrest, harassment, and alcohol intoxication in a public place.
