Beverly Sargeant Payne, age 88, of Nashville, TN, formerly of Hopkinsville, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2025, at her home of natural causes. Graveside Services will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Green Hill Memorial Garden with burial to follow. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Ms. Payne was born in Christian County on April 8, 1937, the daughter of the late Preston Lewis and Billie Hampton Sargeant. Beverly was an Activity Director at the Friendship House. She also worked at Cayce Mill Supply. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Preston Sargeant.
Survivors include her daughters, Cindy McCain of Nashville, TN, and Penny (Jeff) Lancaster of Nashville, TN; her grandchildren, Taylor McCain, Emily Lancaster (Andres) Salgado, Cole McCain, and Abby Lancaster; her great-grandchildren, Evelyn Salgado, Easton Yacko, and Audrey Salgado.
