A Hopkinsville man was charged with possession of drugs after a traffic stop on North Drive in Hopkinsville Sunday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say they stopped a vehicle driven by 64-year-old Kenneth Morris for careless driving and during the stop, he told the officer he didn’t have his license because an officer took it because it was suspended.

Police say he gave consent to search his belongings, and a syringe with meth was located but he claimed he found it and didn’t know what it was.

Morris was arrested and charged with careless driving, operating on a suspended or revoked license, and possession of meth.
