Joseph Michael Allen passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, in Cadiz, KY

He was born December 2, 1942, in Pembroke, Kentucky, to the late Dick and Sara Keller Allen. A dedicated educator, coach, and community member, Joe was a graduate of Hopkinsville High School, Austin Peay State University, and earned a master’s degree from Murray State University. He spent over 30 years shaping young lives as a teacher and coach within the Christian County School System, primarily at Hopkinsville Middle School. In addition to coaching middle school basketball, he contributed to various high school sports, including baseball, and proudly helped coach the Christian County High School tennis team alongside his beloved wife, Janice.

Joe was a passionate supporter and active member of the tennis community in and around Hopkinsville. His love for sports extended beyond the courts—he enjoyed fishing and cheering on his favorite teams. His favorite team was the Louisville Cardinals (where his son played on the tennis team), and he enjoyed aggravating the UK fans at church. However, his greatest joy was time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a devoted member of Second Baptist Church in Hopkinsville, where his faith and fellowship were central to his life.

Joe Allen leaves behind a legacy of kindness, mentorship, and unwavering love for his family, community, and students. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Memorial contributions can be made to Pennyroyal Hospice, 220 Burley Avenue, Hopkinsville, Kentucky 42240.
